What Out of Order Is About
A government minister books a suite in a five star hotel for a discreet evening with a woman from the opposition side. The plan collapses the moment they find a corpse wedged in the window, and everything after that is slammed doors, one lie stacked on the last, and misunderstandings chasing each other around a single room. András Kern and Róbert Koltai directed it together, wrote it together, and took the two lead parts themselves, working from Ray Cooney's stage farce. Released at the end of 1997, it became the biggest domestic box office success in Hungary between 1996 and 2014. The comic engine is simple and merciless: every time a door opens, the list of things that have to be hidden gets longer.
