Outcast Rockstar

Outcast Rockstar (original title Chorão: Marginal Alado), directed by Felipe Novaes, is a documentary about Chorão (real name Alexandre Magno Abrão), lead singer of Brazilian rock band Charlie Brown Jr., which he founded in 1992 and which released nine studio albums and won two Latin Grammys. The film had its world premiere at the 43rd São Paulo International Film Festival in October 2019, where it was voted Best National Documentary by audience poll; its wider release, simultaneously in theaters and on digital platforms, followed on April 8, 2021. Chorão was found dead in his São Paulo apartment on March 6, 2013; the official autopsy report listed cocaine overdose as the cause of death.
