Overdose: The Next Financial Crisis

The documentary takes up the measures taken after the financial bubble burst. Interest rates were lowered and trillions of dollars were pumped into a sick banking system. The question the film asks is this: what happens if what is applied as the solution is the same mistake that caused the crisis. The account does not leave that question open ended; it argues that an order held up by borrowing is heading for another collapse. That argument is the film’s own, and the documentary speaks openly from inside one line of economic thought. Interviews and charts are compressed into forty seven minutes. A view set against state intervention in markets runs through the whole account. Martin Borgs’s American documentary was completed in 2010.
