Let It Be

Ferit is a reporter on a newspaper. His job is writing the news. But what he writes is not true. He has set his sights on a man called Hulusi. Hulusi runs an olive oil business. One day Ferit runs a story accusing him. According to it the man mixes machine oil into his product. Another day he goes after the man’s daughter. The daughter is called Alev. The story says Alev goes about with men. Photographs are printed alongside it. But the man in the photograph is no stranger. He is Alev’s cousin. So the story is false from beginning to end. Tarık Akan and Müjde Ar take the leads, with Hulusi Kentmen and Şevket Altuğ also in the cast, in Orhan Aksoy’s Turkish film of 1976.
