What Paradise or Oblivion Is About
This forty eight minute documentary was made by the Venus Project itself, as a way of introducing the movement’s ideas to new viewers. What it describes are the value disorders it says the present system produces and the symptoms that follow; what it proposes is the social and economic system Jacque Fresco worked on all his life and called a resource-based economy. Fresco described himself as a social engineer, futurist, inventor and industrial designer. The film’s argument is that the methods of politics, law and business are out of date and should give way to science and high technology. It is worth keeping in mind that this is an advocacy film, made by the movement it advocates for.
