Pets

The documentary gathers stories about the bond between people and animals from different parts of the world. We meet both people who keep animals at home and people who do rescue work; dogs, cats, pigs, goats and birds of prey all belong to the same account. The film brings these together through interviews, archive footage and short clips that have circulated on the internet. The account argues no case; it is content to set side by side the many different forms such relations can take. The use of clips that have circulated online also sets the form of the film: the account is built from short pieces and stays long with no single story. Bryce Dallas Howard’s seventy nine minute documentary was completed in 2025.
