Raditya Dika's 2014 Indonesian film follows a student who starts a detective club at school. He tries to solve a rumour going round the school, but his real aim is to attract the attention of a girl he likes. The film runs on two timelines. The school years and adulthood are given against each other, and how small the things that seemed important in youth become later is the real idea. Raditya Dika adapts his own books and both directs and stars. The humour rests largely on interior voice and observation; the tone is light and the emotional passages plain.
