What Please Murder Me Is About
The lawyer Craig Carlson gets his client acquitted. She was charged with killing her husband and Carlson believes she is innocent. After the trial he learns the truth: she is guilty, and he is the one who freed her. He has his own part in that case too. The man looks for a way to put it right. Raymond Burr plays the lawyer and Angela Lansbury the woman in Peter Godfrey's seventy-eight minute noir. Burr would become known for a lawyer on television shortly afterwards; here he shows the same profession from a far darker place. The telling is about the law's inability to take back a verdict once given. The plot opens with a flashback.
