Power and Terror: Noam Chomsky in Our Times

The documentary watches Noam Chomsky speaking. The material comes from talks he gave in the spring of 2002. An interview made in his office is cut in between. The subject is the attacks of the eleventh of September and what followed. Chomsky criticises American foreign policy. He sets the ideas of power and terror side by side. He lines up examples from history. He describes how the press and the intellectual class fall silent in wartime. The film runs on his voice from beginning to end. No room is given to an opposing view. It is, in other words, a one sided text. That is worth knowing before watching. The filmmaking is plain and passes the talks on as they were. Noam Chomsky speaks in the seventy four minute documentary, a Japanese production John Junkerman finished in 2002.
