Prague

Christoffer and Maja are in the last years of a marriage. Christoffer's father, whom he had not seen in years, has died in Prague, and they go together to collect the body and settle the paperwork. In the city it emerges that his father had a life they knew nothing about: a woman, a flat, a circle of people. On the same trip Maja tells him something she has been keeping. Two people dealing with a funeral realise their marriage is over. Prague is a place that belongs to neither of them and where they know nobody, which leaves everything more exposed. Ole Christian Madsen directs this Danish film of ninety-two minutes, with Mads Mikkelsen as Christoffer and Stine Stengade as Maja. Some of the dialogue is improvised, and the film leaves the two of them alone in long scenes.
