Lotte Bergstrøm What Kira's Reason: A Love Story Is About
After two years in a psychiatric hospital, Kira comes home and she and her husband Mads try to put their marriage back together. But the outside is not the hospital; parties, acquaintances and daily life move at a speed she cannot carry. Mads wants to help his wife, but neither of them knows how much of it is patience and how much is pressure. The film was made under the rules of the Danish Dogme movement, handheld and in natural light. The account does not set recovery up as a destination; it shows a woman having to decide again every day. Stine Stengade plays the lead in Ole Christian Madsen’s ninety three minute Danish film, completed in 2001.
