What Problemista Is About
Alejandro came from El Salvador to design toys, the strange melancholy kind, and he is waiting on an application to Hasbro that never moves. With his work visa running down, his only route to a sponsor is assisting Elizabeth, an art critic trying to mount an exhibition of her cryogenically frozen husband's paintings of eggs, who cannot get through five minutes with anyone without a fight. Julio Torres wrote, directed and stars, and he draws immigration bureaucracy not realistically but as a fairy-tale monster.
