Queen: Live In Rio

The film records the concert Queen gave in Rio de Janeiro in January 1985. The concert was the headline show of the first Rock in Rio festival. More than three hundred thousand people were on the ground. The recording shows the stage and the crowd together. Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon are on stage. The film does not step outside the concert; there are no interviews and no narration. The sixty minutes are given to a single night. The work is an example of the stadium concert recordings of the eighties. What the account puts at the centre is the relation between the stage and the crowd. Aloysio Legey’s Brazilian production was completed in 1985.
