What Recipes For Disaster Is About
The director John Webster puts a proposal to his family. The proposal is this: to use nothing based on oil for a year. His wife and their two small children agree to it. But they do not want to give up their middle class suburban life either. Holding those two things together turns out far harder than it looked. Every ordinary thing they do not do, or cannot help doing, causes trouble. Through it the family test their own values and their patience. The film tells this as a comedy of errors. The eighty five minutes cover a year. Webster’s Finnish documentary was completed in 2008.
