Reggie

The documentary takes up the baseball player Reggie Jackson. Jackson won the World Series five times. He is counted among the first great stars of the sport. The film tells his life and his career together. At the centre of the account is what he fought for as a Black athlete. That fight was over dignity and being treated as an equal. Jackson looks back from the present and weighs his own legacy. Civil rights are inside the film as well. Julius Erving, Hank Aaron and Derek Jeter appear in it. Alex Stapleton’s Canadian and American coproduction of 2023 runs a hundred and four minutes.
