Réjeanne Padovani

Vincent Padovani is a contractor. He has just finished a large highway. To mark it he gives a dinner at his house. The guests are the politicians who approved the work. Fixers are at the table as well. Deals are being made over the food. Outside a protest is gathering against the road. Just then somebody unexpected arrives. It is Padovani’s former wife. Her name is Réjeanne. Her presence puts the whole evening at risk. The film gathers all of it around that one dinner, aiming at the traffic between politics and money. Jean Lajeunesse and Luce Guilbeault appear in the ninety six minute film, a Canadian production Denys Arcand finished in 1973.
