What Road to Singapore Is About

Josh is the son of a shipping magnate and is about to be married off. He runs, and with his friend Ace ends up not in Singapore but on a distant island called Kaigoon. The plan is a lazy life free of women and responsibility. The moment they see Mima the plan collapses; both of them fall for the same woman. The thing they ran from is standing right in front of them. Victor Schertzinger directs the first of the seven Road pictures with Bing Crosby, Bob Hope and Dorothy Lamour. Eighty-five minutes, with Anthony Quinn in the cast. The habit of the later films, playing to the camera and joking with the audience, is not fully settled here yet.
