What Robo-G Is About
Three engineers cannot get the robot their company is to show at a fair working in time and, to save their jobs, hit on the idea of putting a person inside the robot’s shell. The man they find is an elderly one living alone and bored, and he goes out on stage inside the shell. The demonstration at the fair draws far more attention than expected, the press reports on the robot and a university student takes a close interest in its artificial intelligence; keeping the lie going becomes steadily harder. In Shinobu Yaguchi’s hundred and twelve minute Japanese comedy, Mickey Curtis plays the old man and Gaku Hamada one of the engineers. It was completed in 2012.
