Adrenaline Drive

Suzuki, who works at a car rental office, is dragged to the house of a yakuza boss over a minor traffic accident. Shizuko, a timid nurse, happens to be nearby at the same moment, and a gas leak blows the place up. The two of them meet in the rubble. When the ambulance they share with the unconscious boss also crashes, a case full of money is suddenly lying in front of them, and they take it and run. What follows is a chase, with a bumbling gang after two people who have never broken a rule in their lives. Instead of tightening the tension the film turns it into comedy, and what we watch is two shy people growing bolder together. Hikari Ishida and Masanobu Ando appear in Shinobu Yaguchi’s hundred and twelve minute Japanese film, completed in 1999.
