Royal Bengal Rahasya

Feluda and his companions travel to North Bengal at the invitation of a wealthy landowner. What is wanted from them is the solving of a puzzle said to lead to buried treasure. Things turn in an unexpected direction; there is a mysterious death, and rumours in the forest of a tiger that has taken to killing people. The film joins a detective plot to the danger of the forest itself. Solving the puzzle and staying alive in the jungle move forward at the same time. The account does not tie its fear to the supernatural; the tiger and the people each stay what they are. Coming out of Bengali cinema, it makes the detective’s two companions part of the story as well. Sabyasachi Chakraborty takes the lead in Sandip Ray’s hundred and seven minute Indian film, completed in 2011.
