Running Out of Time

Antonio works for ETA. He comes to Madrid to prepare an operation and moves into a flat. Next door is Charo: eighteen, using, living with her friend Vanessa. Antonio tells them he is a photographer. The girl trusts him, and he is caught by something he did not expect: in the middle of a job for a cause he stopped believing in years ago, something that belongs to his own life appears. But the calendar keeps running and the date of the operation does not move. Imanol Uribe directs the Spanish film; ninety-three minutes, with Carmelo Gómez as Antonio and Ruth Gabriel as Charo, and Javier Bardem and Candela Peña in the cast. It is adapted from Juan Madrid's novel. It was named best film at the Goyas in 1995.
