What Samurai X: The Motion Picture Is About
The war against the Tokugawa order is over and a new era has begun, but the life the winners promised never arrived. Shigure Takimi, who lost his family and friends in that war, is preparing one final reckoning with an armed band. In his way stands Kenshin, once an assassin, now a man who has sworn never to kill again and has had the cutting edge of his sword reversed. All the tension of the film is in how long that vow will hold. The name Samurai X is confusing: this 1997 anime feature is distinct from the OVAs and the later live action films.
