Satyricon

In ancient Rome two young men fight over the same boy and go their separate ways. Every place they reach is stranger than the last. The film builds no plot; the narrative is deliberately fragmentary and some sections break off mid-scene, because the text it adapts is itself incomplete. The design refuses realism entirely and shows Rome as an alien planet. Federico Fellini directed, adapting the work of Petronius. Before watching: this is not for a viewer wanting to follow a narrative; it makes no connections between scenes. The sexual content and violence are also explicit.
