Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 2

Alex Rudzinski's 2020 production is the second digital show for Rihanna's lingerie brand Savage X Fenty. The format is not a conventional fashion presentation: choreography, stage design and musical performances are assembled like a concert film, with short interviews with Rihanna and people around the brand slotted between. Bad Bunny, Miguel, Normani and Travis Scott appear. The show's real claim is the range of its casting: different body sizes, skin tones and ages, and pregnant models, share the same stage, a deliberate answer to how uniformly the lingerie industry has long presented itself. Against that, the production is finally a sales instrument; every scene doubles as a product display, and that dual function sometimes undercuts the sincerity. Who it's for: viewers who like productions where fashion show meets stage performance, and who follow Rihanna's brand work. Who it's not for: anyone expecting documentary depth, or bothered by an hour-long advertisement dressed as a show.
