What Sethurama Iyer CBI Is About
Alex, awaiting execution, confesses to six of the seven murders he was acquitted of. That leaves one open file: who committed the seventh? Officer Sethurama Iyer takes the case and starts tracing the real killer. K. Madhu's 2004 film is one instalment of the long running CBI series in Malayalam cinema. Mammootty's Iyer, a policeman who never raises his voice, never moves quickly and works purely by attention, lodged himself in the memory of Kerala audiences. Across a hundred and forty five minutes the tension comes from interrogation rather than action.
