What Shagird Is About
Hanumant Singh is an odd policeman with methods of his own. He gets results most of the time, but in doing so he sees nothing wrong with dealing with corrupt politicians and gangsters and taking payment for services rendered. Things come apart when a new recruit who appears to be honest joins his team, and the difference between the two men turns into a conflict. How honest the new recruit actually is becomes a question of its own as the account goes on. The film is about the grey area between politics and crime and deliberately keeps the line between good and bad blurred. Nana Patekar plays the lead in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s hundred and twenty eight minute Indian film, completed in 2011.
