Silent Dust

There is a wealthy blind man. He believes he lost his son in the Second World War. He decides to build a cricket pavilion in his memory. Preparations for the dedication are under way. Shortly before the ceremony his son turns up. It turns out the boy did not die in battle. He deserted and has been hiding ever since. In the time between he has become a blackmailer and a killer. Now he wants money to start a new life. Though he cannot see, the father senses something is wrong. He follows that sense and tries to learn what is going on. Sally Gray and Derek Farr take the leads, with Nigel Patrick and Stephen Murray also in the cast, in Lance Comfort’s British film of 1949.
