Smart Girls Don't Talk

There is a woman from society. She becomes involved with a gangster. When it starts she does not know what he intends. Then she learns he has hidden plans. That discovery changes everything. The account plays around a nightclub. The film is built in the film noir tradition. It moves between crime and high society. The woman stays at the centre throughout. The nightclub is the fixed setting of the account. Richard Rober is in the cast too. What the gangster intends is the knot of the story. Virginia Mayo and Bruce Bennett take the leads, with Robert Hutton, Tom D’Andrea and Helen Westcott also in the cast, in Richard L. Bare’s American film of 1948.
