Something Better to Come

There is a rubbish dump just outside Moscow. It is called the Svalka. It is one of the largest in the world. People live on it. Yula is one of them. She is growing up there with her mother. Her friends are in the same place. The conditions are hard. Daily life goes on all the same. People hold on to one another. Yula wants to get out and change her life, and that wish looks a long way off. The director followed her for fourteen years, and the documentary compresses those years. Hanna Polak had been nominated for an Oscar before this. Hanna Polak made the ninety seven minute documentary, a Danish and Polish production finished in 2014.
