Sonatine

The film is about two young girls. Chantal and Louisette are friends. The account is built in three parts. The first follows Chantal. She becomes fixed on a bus driver. It ends up costing him his job. The second follows Louisette. She has run away from home. She meets a Bulgarian sailor at the port. What she finds there does not last. Both of them lose their faith in the world of adults. In the third part they come together and make a decision between them, and the film is about the road to it. Pascale Bussières and Marcia Pilote take the leads in the ninety one minute film, which took the Silver Lion at Venice, a Canadian production Micheline Lanctôt finished in 1984.
