Spirit of the Marathon

The documentary is about the marathon. The race covers forty two kilometres. The film follows six runners. Some of them are professional athletes. Some have taken it up not long ago. All of them are preparing for the same race. The goal is the Chicago Marathon of 2005. The training begins months ahead. The runners arrange their daily lives around it. Injuries and fatigue come in between. Their families live through it with them. On the day of the race they are all at the start line. The camera runs at the front and at the back. Different stories reach their end at the finish line. The film touches on the history of the marathon as well. Dick Beardsley and Ryan Bradley appear in the one hundred four minute documentary. It is an American production Jon Dunham finished in 2008.
