What Spring Forward Is About
Paul, just out of prison, takes a job with the parks department in a small Connecticut town. Murph, assigned to work with him, is a generation older and has his own trouble: his gravely ill son is dying. The two work together through a year; the film watches them season by season in short scenes and is built almost entirely out of their conversations. An unpleasant run-in with one of the town’s wealthy men shows how much the two men have come to hold on to each other.
