Ian Hart acts in Michael Winterbottom's Wonderland. The review Xan Brooks wrote on that film says room was made for affecting performances, and that these came above all from him and Gina McKee. Geoffrey Macnab, describing another film, counts his psychopath in Thaddeus O'Sullivan's Nothing Personal of 1996 among the strongly drawn characters. Kevin Maher, on The Closer You Get of 1999, takes it for an achievement that his energetic burlesque stays compelling despite the lightness of the material. In the piece on The End of the Affair his name appears there only where a part is introduced: Parkis, the private detective Maurice hires to spy.
