Srabon Megher Din

At the centre of the account is a folk singer. The man lives in a village and sings. His voice is known around the area. He loses his heart to a woman. But the notables of the village come between them. A wealthy family wants to turn the matter its own way. The balance in the village makes it harder. The singer says what he has to say in music. Many folk melodies are played across the film. One of them is Amar Gaye Joto Dukhkho Shoy. Bari Siddiqui sings that piece. The account is the second film Humayun Ahmed made. Zahid Hasan and Meher Afroz Shaon take the leads, with Mahfuz Ahmed also in the cast, in Humayun Ahmed’s Bangladeshi film of 1999.
