What Stop at Nothing: The Lance Armstrong Story Is About
Lance Armstrong won the Tour de France seven times, survived cancer, founded a charity, and became one of the most admired athletes alive. Then it was documented that all of it ran on doping: in 2012 the seven titles were stripped and he was banned for life, and in 2013 he confessed on television. Alex Holmes's documentary is less about the doping than about the machinery of silencing: what happened to the former team-mates, the masseuse and the journalists who told the truth. Betsy and Frankie Andreu and Greg LeMond speak for themselves here. Armstrong is present in archive footage. How the lie was sustained for so long turns out to be more interesting than the lie.
