The Last Rider

Greg LeMond was an American cyclist. In 1986 he won the Tour de France. He was the first American to do it. The following year he had an accident while out hunting. A great many pellets struck his body. He came close to dying and was slow to recover. He could not race in two of the tours. Nobody expected him to return to his old strength. In 1989 he started again. That year’s race stayed close to the final day. The gap came down to a matter of seconds. LeMond won that tour. His wife Kathy speaks in the film as well. Years later LeMond said publicly that he had been sexually abused as a child. The film gives that its place without going into detail. Greg LeMond and Kathy LeMond appear in the ninety seven minute documentary, a British production Alex Holmes finished in 2023.
