What Stuntman Is About
Eddie Braun has been a stunt performer for forty years and his childhood hero was Evel Knievel. He decides to complete the jump Knievel attempted and failed in 1974, across the Snake River Canyon in a rocket. No part of the industry backs him and he puts up his own savings. Scott Truax builds the rocket, which is not a coincidence: his father Robert Truax was the engineer who designed Knievel's original craft. The jump took place on 17 September 2016 near Twin Falls, Idaho. Kurt Mattila's documentary includes the months of preparation and how Braun's family took the whole thing. It won the audience award at the LA Film Festival.
