What Su.. Su... Sudhi Vathmeekam Is About

Sudhi stammers, and the film follows him from the age of four to forty, through a life in which speech itself is the obstacle and in which the people around him have often made it a joke. Ranjith Sankar's 2015 film does not ask for pity. It shows what is actually difficult day to day: answering a phone, speaking up in a meeting, introducing yourself. The character is drawn from a real person, Sudheendran Avittathur, a former colleague of the director. Jayasurya played the part and co-produced the film, and took special jury awards at both national and Kerala state level for it. The tone moves between comedy and drama without ever laughing at him.
