What Tales of Terror Is About
A portmanteau entry in Roger Corman’s run of Edgar Allan Poe adaptations, holding three separate stories. In the first, a man blames his daughter for his wife’s death and has never stopped. In the second, a drunk who despises his wife and her cat meets the local wine tasting champion and arrives at a considerably heavier decision. In the third, a dying man agrees to be hypnotised at the moment of death so the pain will stop, and nothing goes the way anyone expected. Vincent Price, Peter Lorre and Basil Rathbone share the picture, and the tone swings between horror and black comedy.
