What Teenage Paparazzo Is About
One night Adrian Grenier notices a thirteen-year-old boy among the crowd photographing him. Austin Visschedyk is a genuine paparazzo: out on the street at midnight, working among the professionals, selling his pictures. Grenier starts following him around, and then which side of the camera each of them is on stops being clear. The 2010 documentary looks at the relationship between fame and the machinery that produces it: who is using whom, how the work changes the boy, and how the film itself becomes part of that change. Grenier does not hide it and questions his own part in it. Paris Hilton, Alec Baldwin and Lindsay Lohan also speak.
