Tess

Tess is a woman of twenty. She lives in Cape Town. She stays in a district by the sea. She makes her living selling sex on the street. She is dependent on painkillers. Her humour is one of the things that keeps her going. There are hard things in her past. She tells almost nobody about them. One day she learns she is pregnant. The news turns her life over. She thinks about whether to have the child. The people around her offer little support. She is forced to face her own past. She fights to keep the past from swallowing her. The film was adapted from a novel. Christia Visser and Brendon Daniels appear in the eighty six minute film, a South African production Meg Rickards finished in 2016.
