The Accountant²

One of the most visible changes in Gavin O’Connor’s sequel is a recasting. Justine, who guided Christian Wolff by phone in the first film, was Alison Wright; here Allison Robertson, an autistic actor, takes the part, and is on screen far more. Robertson submitted herself for the role without an agent. Justine does not speak, and Wright still supplies her computer voice, so two performers share the role. The production changed hands too: Warner Bros. passed distribution to Amazon MGM in early 2024 and stayed on as international distributor. Seamus McGarvey returned as cinematographer; Bryce Dessner scored it in place of Mark Isham. Shooting began in California on 25 March 2024 and the film premiered at SXSW on 8 March 2025. A car crash took the memory of Anaïs and left her with acquired savant syndrome. It grossed $103.3 million, $65.5 million of that in the United States and Canada, on a budget of $80 million. O’Connor says a third film is in development as a road trip for the brothers, with Anna Kendrick returning. A good fit if you want the action to hand its weight to the bickering between Affleck and Bernthal. Not for anyone wary of stories that treat autism as a store of talent; the information comes from a group of autistic children who hack.
