The Roundup: Punishment

In the fourth entry of the series, Ma Seok-do moves to a cybercrime unit and goes after an organisation running online gambling. The template is unchanged: he kicks the door in, one punch settles it, and brief comic beats fill the gaps. Heo Myeong-haeng came up as a stunt coordinator, which shows in the clarity of the fights; the camera does not cut and the blows are visible. Ma Dong-seok now plays the character as a sort of walking weather event. The cybercrime material stays superficial and the interest is always in the physical confrontation. It was another large hit in South Korea, where this series is one of the few reliable box office machines. Who it is for: viewers who like Korean action comedy and are following the series. Who it is not for: anyone wanting novelty, since the formula is deliberately untouched.
