The Ambush

The year is 1945. The war is nearly over. A new government is being formed in Yugoslavia. Ive Vrana is a young man. He believes in the revolution and the new order. He belongs to the youth organisation. He throws himself into the work. What he sees does not match what he was told. Political calculation and crime run together. Right and wrong become hard to separate. Ive’s belief is shaken. The film is about the gap between the revolution’s words and its practice. It is one of the important films of the Yugoslav Black Wave. After its screening at Pula it was shelved at home. Ivica Vidović and Milena Dravić appear in the eighty minute film, a Yugoslav production Živojin Pavlović finished in 1969.
