The Blue-Veiled

An old man owns a tomato farm and a sauce factory. He has just lost his wife. His daughters and their husbands live around him. The man falls in love with a woman who works at the factory. She is poor and much younger than he is. Word of what is between them gets out. The family does not take it well at all. His daughters turn against their father. Their husbands stand on the same side. Everyone tries to talk him out of the relationship. What they are discussing is not love but the standing of the family. Despite the pressure the man does not step back. In the end he makes his own choice. That choice changes both his family and himself. Ezzatollah Entezami and Fatemeh Motamed-Arya appear in the eighty five minute film, an Iranian production Rakhshan Banietemad finished in 1995.
