The Choice Is Ours

The documentary takes up the social order we live in and argues that another one is possible. Its case is that we are advanced in technique while our values and our behaviour have stayed behind. The account proposes the idea of an economy based on resources and presents it through the work of Jacque Fresco. These proposals are the film’s own; the documentary does not weigh them, it argues for them. Interviews with scientists, writers and journalists make up the body of the text. War, poverty and the damage to the environment are traced back to one cause. The claim that what we call civilisation is not in fact civilised is the starting point. The fifty nine minute film was made as part of a series. Roxanne Meadows’s American documentary was completed in 2015.
