Guðni Th. Jóhannesson What The Day Iceland Stood Still Is About
Pamela Hogan's 2025 documentary is about a single day in Iceland in 1975. The great majority of women did not go to work and left the housework undone. The documentary describes how the day was organised. Women of different political views met on one demand; the narrative gives the preparation together with what the men went through that day. Participants speak, with animation alongside. The documentary also follows the change that came after. Who it's for: those curious about the history of the women's movement and about the Nordic countries.
