The film runs from the 1940s to the present and tells everything that turns around the land at once: the family settling accounts with itself, its relationship with the people who work the estate, and the political and economic transformation the country went through across those decades. Tiago Guedes does it through a single place; the house and the land become the thing that carries time. Albano Jerónimo leads the 166-minute film. It competed for the Golden Lion at Venice in 2019, the first Portuguese film in the main competition in fourteen years, and then became the first Portuguese film selected for Special Presentations at Toronto.
