The Fort of Death

Shikoro Ichibei is a bounty hunter. He is also a doctor. He runs a clinic for people who cannot pay. Farmers from a village come to him. Their village is under the thumb of an official. The man keeps a private force of his own. The farmers have had enough. They turn their homestead into a fort and prepare to make their stand there. Ichibei leaves the clinic and takes charge of the defence. He does not only fight. He works out the tactics as well. This is the second film in the series, and the spy business of the first one moves into the background while a siege takes its place. Tomisaburō Wakayama, Tomoko Mayama and Sanae Tsuchida appear in the ninety seven minute film, a Japanese production Eiichi Kudō finished in 1969.
