What The Front Line Is About
Joe, an African immigrant working as a security guard at a bank in Dublin, is trying after what he lived through at home to keep out of everyone’s way. One of the city’s most ruthless gangs takes his family hostage to force him to be the man on the inside for a robbery. He gives in at first, then does something the gang has not allowed for and turns the threat back on them. The film moves through both the tension of the robbery and what being an immigrant means in Dublin. Ériq Ebouaney and James Frain appear in David Gleeson’s ninety three minute Irish film; it was completed in 2006.
